JAKE ORGAN PHD
Always learning, always teaching, always expressing
Dr. Jake Organ has lived or worked in six countries on four continents. He has been involved in different forms of social activism since embracing politics as a channel for his fiery youthful zeal. At the age of forty-four he started a PhD in Development/Environmental economics after spending three and a half years teaching in the Arabian Gulf. Economics provided him a set of vigorous tools to answer some of the questions that he has faced through his travels and social activism. His first passion is conveying to students his understanding of the basic economic tools to conceptualize the world around them, especially the changes brought through the whole process of globalization.

His research focuses on the effects of climate change on the African Sahel and Somalia, and he wishes to build a community of local and international scholars that can research and help policy in these nations that are experiencing the profound effects of changing weather patterns.

Dr. Organ is also a writer, novelist, linguist, and poet. He is available for teaching, training, and consultancy.
